District 9 Biennium Goals for 2010-2012
Connecting Members with the Heart of Zonta: Service, Advocacy, & Friendship
District 9 General Overall Goals for 2010-2012:
1. Direct communication to the members through email blasts. As members you will receive direct emails from the District 9 Governor, Committee Chairs and Conference Chairs keeping each of you informed of relevant and current information
2. District 9 Newsletter will be emailed quarterly directly to each member.
3. Monthly and Bi-Monthly tips, ideas and updates will be emailed to each member from your District 9 Committee Chairs.
4. Bi-Monthly updates will be emailed to each member regarding the October, 2011 District 9 Conference.
5. District 9 Website will be updated. A Website Task Force is currently working and collaborating on new design concepts. Current technology like Facebook, Google Calendar, Videos are being evaluated to incorporate into the website and being available for all clubs to use in presentations and club programs.
6. Collaborate and Commit each member to "Say NO – Unite" End Violence Against Women at http://saynotoviolence.org/join-say-no/zonta-international-unites-say-no-violence-against-women
Please follow the above link and sign up – it is your name, email and country and that is it! There are only 2,000 so far so let's strive for District 9 to sign up at least 100% of our members by the end of the biennium. It is 3 clicks and you are done! Let's work together to collaborate on our effort to end violence against women.
7. Commit each member to use www.goodsearch.com which donates $.01 (penny) and/or www.goodsearch.com/goodshop which donates $5.00 to Zonta International Foundation for every search that you do. Please follow this link www.goodsearch.com and follow the three easy steps and you as an individual Zontian will make a difference and advance the status of women worldwide. It is that easy and I would like to challenge our District that every member uses the website which will benefit Zonta International Foundation to carry out the international service projects. Let's work together to have a 100% of our members do 1 search to benefit our Zonta Int'l Foundation.
8. Commit to attend the October, 2011 District 9 Conference. I would like to encourage all of our new members to attend and have a goal of at least 200 District 9 Zontians attend!
District 9 Membership Goals for 2010-2012:
1. Retention of current membership in the primary goal this biennium. Commit to 90% retention of our existing members! Let's stop for a moment and step back to acknowledge our current members and ensure they are getting as much out of serving Zonta as our organization serves others. Commit to mission focused service projects, professionally and well run meetings that will ensure members remain engaged and committed to Zonta and our goals. Remember – Keep It Fun and They Will Come!
2. Commit each club to add 2 members in the 2010-2012 biennium.
3. Commit to add 2 new clubs in the 2010-2012 biennium.
4. Communicate to each member the importance to register and access www.zonta.org and encourage 90% of our members to register. By registering and having access to Members Resources it will give each member more information about Zonta and enhance their Zonta experience.
District 9 Service Committee Goals for 2010-2012:
1. Direct communication with clubs on highlighting service projects
2. Encourage each club to maintain mission focused service projects
3. Contribute to District 9 Quarterly newsletter
4. Direct communication with members via email blasts with highlight of club's projects, tips and ideas for service projects
5. Increase direct communication with local schools to promote our educational initiatives including Amelia Earhart Fellowship, Jane M. Klausman Business Scholarship and Young Women in Public Affairs Award.
6. Collaborate with other Committee Chairs to develop better communication and ideas to promote more focused service projects and more involvement of clubs in participating in the educational awards.
District 9 Foundation Ambassador Goals for 2010-2012:
1. Communicate the importance at the club level the support of Zonta International's Service Projects
2. Commit to District 9 ranking to move to #1 in donations to our Zonta International Foundation
3. Commit to raising $250,000 for our Zonta International Foundation
4. Collaborate and Communicate information about Zonta International and the importance of our Foundation by sending out direct monthly email blasts to all members
5. Communicate through Facebook, YouTube our 2010-2012 goals and monitor the success of our fundraising for our International Service Projects
6. Collaborate by contributing an article in the Quarterly District 9 Newsletter
District 9 United Nations Committee Goals for 2010-2012:
1. Communicate with members to increase awareness of the UN and relationship to Zonta International through monthly email tips including how clubs can incorporate UN activities within their clubs which advances the status of women worldwide.
2. Commit to create a PowerPoint that can be downloaded from the District 9 website and be available to all clubs
3. Collaborate to create a video of the UN presentation and be a downloadable file on the District 9 website to give all clubs the information and tools to share information related to the importance of the UN committee
4. Collaborate by contributing an article in the Quarterly District 9 Newsletter
District 9 Public Relations Committee Goals for 2010-2012:
1. Commit to raising overall awareness to clubs how they can use Public Relations to raise their club's profile as well as attract new members
2. Communicate why all clubs should be encouraged to integrate PR into their activities
3. Communicate the ABC's of Public Relations by the use of bi-monthly email tips to our members as well as success stories of our clubs.
4. Collaborate to create a PowerPoint presentation that can be downloaded from the District 9 website and accessed by all clubs and members.
5. Contribute an article for Quarterly District 9 newsletter
District 9 LAA Committee Goals for 2010-2012:
1. Continue to communicate how Zonta can participate on a local level Advocacy projects that will advance the Zonta mission.
2. Communicate ideas and tips through direct email blasts on a monthly or bi-monthly schedule.
3. Communicate that Advocacy is FUN (Fundamentals, Understanding and Nurture)
4. Contribute an article for Quarterly District 9 newsletter.
